The only real big shocker there is The Dark Knight getting neither Best Picture nor Best Directing nominations, I really felt as if Nolan is due but what can you do. The category I am the happiest with is definitely Writing (Original Screenplay) due to the fact that all of those films are fantastic with the exception of Frozen River simply because I have not seen it yet. I am very happy and surprised that In Bruges got a nomination, such an outstanding, highly underrated film. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Best Support Actor, although I think Ledger will get it (not that it isn’t deserved), it’s just that Michael Shannon in Revolutionary Road was incredible. I’ll post more thoughts later, I have to run to school.

Have a good day all.

  1. I want you to post your predictions for each category! Do you still think Benjamin Button will get best picture? I am torn between Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke for who I want to get Best Actor. I bet my picks would be way different than who actually wins…haha

  2. I am surprised and pleased about Richard Jenkins and his Best Actor nomination for The Visitor. He is really a good actor and has been in countless things. Interesting….he probably won’t win, but it’s nice to see him recognized.
