Thomas Balkcom’s Movies

Just another weblog

Hello all.

I am home from work for the evening and thought I would use this chance to write down some general thoughts from the week. Overall it was a solid week, school was far from difficult and work was just as easy. I have stuck to my goals (I know I am only four days in but I am still impressed), I had to give up a shift for this upcoming Tuesday so I can go to an advance screening of 9, but immediately picked up a shift another day to make up for it.

I have some upcoming film goals for this month and I seriously need to get started on all of them. I fully intend on knocking out Soderbergh’s filmography by the release of The Informant! which is slowly creeping up on me. I watched Nolan’s Following (which Criterion will be releasing next year!) a couple of weeks ago in order to prepare to watch all of his films over again but haven’t touched on it since unfortunately. My next goal is to have seen all of the foreign films that were nominated last year. This is the list (in no specific order)…

The Good German
Che: Part One
Che: Part Two
The Girlfriend Experience
Batman Begins
The Prestige
The Dark Knight
The Baader Meinhof Complex

It’s only twelve films, so hopefully I am able to knock those out. My room needs to be cleaned and I need to get up and actually do something today so that’s it for now. Thank you for reading.
